From the beginning, the Poker Enlightenment team had three goals.

To bring poker coaching out into the open and offer an unbiased coaching and student list that could get coaches and students connected in an open environment.
To offer a place for poker players to store their hands and videos online and to pull those hands and videos together into an enormous free and easily searchable database.
To revolutionize the way poker is discussed by introducing cutting edge free tools like PokerMind.

Pokerenlightenment.com is our first attempt at completing these goals but certainly not our last. We have plans to further expand all of these goals and we hope that you will continue to look to Poker Enlightenment for more poker tools and community resources.

Poker Enlightenment is a useful network for a wide variety of poker players and aficionados. Our site is tailored to Poker Pros, Poker Coaches, Poker Students, Poker Beginners, Poker Bloggers and people who simply want to connect with other people who share an interest in Poker.

Poker Pros: Poker players are always looking for an edge. And at Poker Enlightenment they'll find tools like PokerMind and connections like our Coaches and Students section to keep them on top of their games.
Poker Coaches: Coaches looking to expand their business and get in touch with new students will love our searchable student database as well as our coaching profile to get their names out there.
Poker Students:One of the biggest goals of Poker Enlightenment was to get Poker Coaching out into the open and to offer an unbiased place to discuss poker coaching. Students can come to Poker Enlightenment to search for the perfect coach and then read their reviews and ask around to find out the skills and trustworthiness of the coach.
Poker Beginners:Poker players interested in getting into the online poker world have found the perfect place to get in touch with poker players of all skill levels and abilities and find out if poker is right for them. They can also examine hands, watch videos and read blogs, all for free.
Poker Bloggers:The poker blog is a rapidly growing tool for poker coaches and players to increase name recognition and the Poker Enlightenment blog tool will help any blogger get their blog increased readership

You can store all your own poker hands in your own personal poker hand online database using PokerMind.
You can store all of your poker videos in your own personal video database.
You can start your own poker blog to offer your views on poker existence or use it as a tool to recruit more students.

The My Poker Enlightenment section is your control panel for your account. Here you can:

Send and receive private messages.
Manage your friend invitations.
Create your own RSS feeds for Poker Enlightenment content.
Manage your watch lists
Edit your privacy settings

A custom news feed is a unique tool that Poker Enlightenment users can utilize to easily keep track of everything that interests them on the entire site. First, a user adds interesting Users, Coaches, Students, Hands, Videos and Blogs to their watch list. Then they can create a customizable RSS feed that tells them when any of the users or items on their watch list are updated, changed, added or discussed. This allows our users to stay up to date on all of their Poker Enlightenment interests on one page without having to spend hours clicking through the site.

Whether you are looking for students to coach or simply the perfect coach for you, the Poker Enlightenment Coaches and Students section should be your first stop. With the largest, most in depth, customizable coaches and students searchable database on the web, you’ll be sure to find exactly who you’re looking for. Students will even be able to read reviews of other students who have used each coach ensuring that you get a coach you can trust.

There are four ways to find out about a coach’s credibility among the poker community.

Check the coach’s user reviews. If he has a number of good reviews from trusted users, then that is a good sign he is well respected amongst the poker community.
Go to our Coaches and Students Forum and ask around to see if anybody knows this coach.
Look at the coach’s usernames at other poker forums that are listed in the user's personal profile. Then go to those forums and find out what you can about the coach.
Send a Personal Message to other students that have been coached by this user and ask then about their experience.

By creating a vast network of coaches and students, Poker Enlightenment hopes to remove the uneasiness and uncertainty of online poker coaching.

The Poker Enlightenment Community Hub is designed to bring together poker players who share similar goals and interests. Currently, we are developing a comprehensive groups and events system that will keep poker players connected with each other in a social networking setting. For now though you can still search for other Poker Enlightenment users who are on the same path as you.

The Poker Enlightenment Hand Section is a great place to store, view and discuss your and other members’ saved PokerMind hands. Use our hand search to find the type of hands you want to discuss in our extensive database. You can even view the top 10 most viewed hands on all of Poker Enlightenment.

One of the most innovative techniques in poker learning has been the online video. And in the Poker Enlightenment Video section, you’ll be able to search and view videos from our extensive databases of free poker videos. Once you’ve found a video, you can engage in discussion about the videos with other members. You can also post your own videos and have other users in the Poker Enlightenment network comment and discuss your own playing. Attempt to make the top ten most viewed lists with your videos and view the ones that have already made the cut.

The poker blog has become a popular tool for online poker players and coaches to talk about their poker experiences and to market their coaching abilities. In the Poker Enlightenment Blog section you can search for a blog that interests you through our blog database. You can even start your own personal blog. Students who are interested in a coach but want to know more information about his or her credibility in the poker community can come to the Coaches and Students forum and ask around to find out if you’re getting the best bang for your buck. Coaches can come and ask other coaches about techniques, pricing and any other poker coaching questions they might have.
